SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall head coach Natalie Desjardins announced the 2019 Seton Hall women's golf fall schedule on Wednesday. The Pirates will participate in four tournaments this fall.
The Pirates will begin competition this fall at the Nittany Lion Invitational. The three-round tournament hosted by Penn State will take place on the University's Blue Course, Sept. 21-22. Last year, The Hall placed fourth at the event with a 21-over-par, 304-291-290-885. A day after tying their par-72, single-round record in round two, the Pirates shot one stroke better to set the record, a 2-over-par, 290. Lizzie Win (Sylvania, Ohio) placed sixth to lead the Pirates individually with an even-par, 76-70-70-216. In the first round, she also tallied the first hole-in-one in program history in tournament play.
The following weekend, The Hall will travel to nearby Springdale Country Club for three rounds of golf at the Princeton Invitational. It will be the eighth time in 10 years that the Pirates have participated in the event. Most recently, the Pirates placed sixth last fall with a 25-over-par, 307-294-601. New Pirate Carolina Ronchel Salas (Huelva, Spain) led the team with a 2-over-par, 75-71-146, to tie for sixth place overall.
After a three-week break from tournament competition, the Pirates will attempt to defend their title at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational, Oct. 19-20, at Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del. Hosted by the University of Delaware, The Hall swept the tournament with victories on both the team and individual sides. Collectively, the Pirates shot a 38-over-par, 287-293-310-890, to win the event by three strokes, shattering their par-71, three-round record by eight strokes. Despite 25 mph winds, Win claimed her first individual title with a 3-over-par, 69-74-73-216.
Finally, the Pirates will wrap up the fall season with a new tournament, the Idle Hour Collegiate Championship. Hosted by Mercer University, the three-round event will be played Nov. 4-5 at Idle Hour Golf Club in Macon, Ga.
