SOUTH KENT, CONN. – In only his second collegiate tournament, freshman Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) claimed the individual title of the 2019 Hartford Hawks Invitational. Xie's efforts helped lift the Seton Hall men's golf team to a third place team finish.
Â
Xie entered the day tied with Rider's Jake Sollon for the individual lead, but was able to jump ahead by virtue of a 3-under-par, 69, on Tuesday. Xie won the event by one stroke over Fairleigh Dickinson's Melan Dhaubhadel with a 10-under-par, 70-67-69-206. Sollon finished two strokes behind.
