After a huge road win like the one Seton Hall had Wednesday night at Butler, sometimes you wish you can sit back and enjoy it.Â
Not in this league. Not in the best conference in the country.
There's no time to celebrate, there's no time to rest, there's no time to worry about the past. The focus is on a super talented St. John's team that makes you work hard for your opportunities. The amount of pressure the Red Storm can apply on its opponent can lead to serious issues. So there's no point in looking at records and rankings. The Hall needs the exact same effort it had at Butler to defeat St. John's, period.Â
That's the beauty of the BIG EAST. Doesn't matter who you are, you're in for a grind day in and day out.
Saturday marks Seton Hall's first appearance of the season on the FOX Broadcast Network, which is Channel Five WNYW here in Metropolitan New York, and Tim Brando and Jim Spanarkel are the talent. Gary Cohen and Dave Popkin are the radio narrators for the game on WMCA 570 AM, simulcast on XM 383 and the Pirate Sports Network.

Three Things to Know About Saturday's Garden Party vs. St. John's
 1. The Johnnies Push the Tempo & Bring the Pressure
St. John's easily leads the BIG EAST in steals (10.6/gm) and the team's 14.1 percent steal percentage is third-best in the nation. Opponents average 18.1 turnovers against the Johnnies. Plus they like to push up the floor and get shots up fast. The Pirates have to first ensure that they have a plan of attack to break the pressure and then on defense they need to stop ball penetration in transition. Preventing second chances will also go a long way as the Red Storm averages the most offensive rebounds per game in the league at 13.6.
Â
2. MSG is the Place to Be
Playing at Madison Square Garden always means just a little more than your typical road game. Although all-time Seton Hall is 8-11 in St. John's home games at The Garden, the Pirates have enjoyed strong success in the World's Most Famous Arena of late. Since the launch of the new BIG EAST in 2013-14, the Pirates are 13-7 at MSG. And one thing's for sure; Seton Hall at MSG means a tight contest. Of those 20 games just mentioned, 17 of them were decided by single digits and 13 of them by six points or fewer.

3. Get Your Cameras Ready
Barring the unforeseen or an epic performance by the St. John's defense, senior All-America candidate Myles Powell will make history. He is only seven points shy of becoming the fifth Pirate to ever score 2,000 for his career. Enjoy every second of watching Myles play while you can.
