
Pirates Fall to Explorers on the Road

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. - The Pirates dropped a tough road set to the La Salle Explorers on the road on Saturday, 198.5-99.5.
Helping to lead the Pirates was freshman Ross Pantano (Bennington, Neb.) who took first in the 200 back. Pantano paced the pool with a time of 1:51.01. The freshman also earned third place finishes in the 100 back and 200 IM.
Also out front for the Pirates was sophomore Ben LaClair (Belchertown, Mass.) who led all swimmers in the 500 free with a time of 4:42.72. The 500 free proved to be one of the Pirates' best events of the meet with Joe Gibson (Chicago, Ill.) and Caleb Smith (Charlottesville, Va.) taking second and third, respectively.
The Pirates will be back in action when they take on BIG EAST foes Georgetown and Providence in the Berkley Aquatics Tri-Meet from Jan. 31-Feb. 1. The diving portion of the meet will take place in Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium on Friday, Jan. 31 with the remainder of the events taking place at the Berkley Aquatic Club in New Providence, N.J. on Feb. 1.
