South Orange, N.J. – Fans who are missing the in-person Seton Hall men's basketball experience at Prudential Center will now have the ability to enjoy gameday on a second screen while watching the Pirates on television at home. Seton Hall Athletics is launching SHU View, a virtual gameday experience that Pirates fans can watch on their smartphone or web browser, beginning with Monday's home opener vs. Iona.Â
Â
SHU View can be accessed through the SHU Pirates Mobile App, available on iPhone and Android devices, and on the web through the Pirate Sports Network at http://shupirates.com/PSN.
Â
"Fan engagement across the country looks very different this year, and our goal was to provide our loyal supporters with a unique gameday experience that brings a small piece of Seton Hall men's basketball at Prudential Center into the comfort and safety of their own homes," said Seton Hall Director of Athletics Bryan Felt.
Â
Pirates fans can start tuning in to SHU View five minutes before each home game tips off to hear athletics department updates, watch the Pirates intro video and enjoy the announcement of the starting lineup, featuring the voice of longtime public address announcer Tim McLoone. The stream will then feature live stats during gameplay and special content during all media timeouts and halftime. Special content will include the showing of in-arena fan cutouts and fan-submitted videos, a prize raffle and other additional content.
Â
Pirates fans also can still purchase a birthday or special occasion announcement for only $10 per message that will be shown on SHU View and in arena at Prudential Center by completing the form at SHUPirates.com/scoreboardmessages. Orders must be placed at least 48 hours in advance of a game. Unfortunately, due to the late nature of scheduling, scoreboard messages will not be accepted for tonight's game vs. Iona.
SHU View for Tonight vs. Iona, starting at 8:55 PM
