Kness Named BIG EAST Women's Golfer of the Week

NEW YORK – Seton Hall junior Mia Kness (Venetia, Pa.) was named BIG EAST Women's Golfer of the Week on Thursday.

Kness birdied two of the final four holes to finish even-par in the final round of the FAU Winter Warm-Up. She ended the first tournament of the spring just one stroke behind the individual champion, Yale's Ami Gianchandani. For the three-round event, Kness shot a 1-under-par, 73-70-72-215. It is her third career sub-par tournament and her fifth top-5 finish.Â

Kness finished second in a field of 81 individual golfers.

The Pirates will return to the course this weekend for three rounds of golf at the Rio Verde Invitational at Rio Verde Country Club in Arizona.
