NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall junior Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) was named BIG EAST Men's Golfer of the Week on Thursday.

Acevedo fired a 1-under-par, 71, in the final round to lift the Pirates to a seventh-place finish at the 2020 Loyola Intercollegiate on Monday. Ever consistent, Acevedo turned in his third consecutive 71 score on the strength of four birdies and 11 pars in round three. For the tournament, he tied for 13th place among 112 individual golfers with a 3-under-par, 71-71-71-213.Â

It's Acevedo's first career sub-par tournament. Furthermore, he entered the event with six career sub-par rounds. All three of his rounds in this tournament were under par.

Acevedo and the rest of the Pirates will return to the links on Sunday, March 8 for the first of three rounds of golf at the Bandon Dunes Championship in Bandon Dunes, Oregon.
