February 29. It's a day that only comes around once every four years.
And this leap year, we get treated to a fantastic matchup that may never happen again. Seton Hall's Myles Powell and Marquette's Markus Howard duel for the 10th time, and unless they also meet in the BIG EAST and NCAA Tournaments, it'll be the final time. The two titans of the conference have combined for 4,858 points and 666 assists with five NCAA Tournament appearances and two more likely in the cards.
It doesn't get much better than that.
Oh, and by the way, Seton Hall is 2-1 all-time on Leap Day, Feb. 29.
- Feb. 29, 1912 - 46-24 win over Cathedral
- Feb. 29, 1984 - 67-65 win over Boston College
- Feb. 29, 2000 - 66-60 loss at St. John's
Saturday's game is a FOX Broadcast Network affair with Tim Brando and Donny Marshall on the call with Lisa Byington on sideline duties. Meanwhile Dave Popkin and John Fanta will bring some noise and possibly some funk on WMCA 570 AM, simulcast on Sirius 105, XM 202 and the Pirate Sports Network.

Three Things to Know About Saturday's Big Matchup With Marquette
1. Did Seton Hall Bottle the Second Half Magic From the Last Meeting?
On January 11, the Pirates held a potent offensive machine to just 18 second-half points and 19 percent shooting. Marquette finished with only 55 points, the fewest it has scored in a game since January 2016. Markus Howard was solid as usual and accounted for eight of the team's 17 made field goals. The Pirates were locked in on defense that second half, and it's that same defensive effort that they will need in front of a hostile Fiserv Forum on Howard's senior day.
2. There's No Reason to Give Possessions Away
In the last meeting, Seton Hall played great defense and perhaps a big part of that was not giving away possessions against the Golden Eagles. The Pirates only committed six turnovers and Marquette only scored seven points off those turnovers. In conference play, Marquette's opponents are averaging less than 10 giveaways a game, so the Pirates need to take care of the basketball and not give an offensive juggernaut more time to score points.
3. Free Throws are Everything
Getting to the free throw line, especially when Myles Powell and Quincy McKnight get to the free throw line, is crucial for the Pirates on the road. They are 6-1 in BIG EAST road games this season and they are shooting 78 percent from the line in those seven games. When Seton Hall has more free throw attempts than its opponent this season, the Pirates are 15-0.
