Former Coach Allen Small to Enter NJSGA Hall of Fame

KENILWORTH, N.J. – Former Seton Hall men's golf head coach Allen Small will be inducted into the New Jersey State Golf Association Hall of Fame on April 30 at Galloping Hill Golf Course, home of the NJSGA's headquarters.

Small will be one of five local golf legends to be inducted as part of the Class of 2020.

The first player to win the NJSGA Amateur, Mid-Amateur and Senior Amateur, Small flourished for decades as one of the top players in New Jersey. His crowning achievement came in the 2004 NJSGA Amateur at Spring Brook, leading to NJSGA Player of the Year honors that season.  That triumph was bookended by victories in the NJSGA Mid-Amateur in 1986 at Colonia and again in 2006 at Galloway National.  Small also won five Senior Amateurs (2008, '09, '11, 12, '13).

Small was Seton Hall's head men's golf coach from 1990 to 1996 and helped guide the Pirates to their first-ever BIG EAST Championship in 1992. He returned to serve as an assistant coach for current head coach Clay White from 2011 until 2014.
