5/23/2020 9:00:00 AM | Women's Golf
Since this would have been Seton Hall's graduation month, we will highlight our seniors as part of our "May Senior Spotlight Series." Powered by Under Armour, we engaged select seniors with a little question and answer session about their time at The Hall.   Â
CAROLINA RONCHEL SALAS
WOMEN'S GOLF
Although here only two years, Carolina Ronchel Salas (Huelva, Spain) has been a significant contributor to Seton Hall's success on the course. In 17 tournaments, she has maintained a 75.72 stroke average, which ranks second-best in Pirate history. Named to the All-BIG EAST Team as a junior, Ronchel Salas has collected five top-10 and two top-5 finishes during her Seton Hall tenure. For two straight years, she has ended the spring ranked seventh in the BIG EAST Conference in stroke average. In 2019, she was named to the BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament team by tying for fourth overall.
Â
Off the course, Ronchel Salas is an Academic All-BIG EAST selection.
Q:Â What's your favorite memory competing for your team?
A: My first (and only) time at BIG EAST for sure… the whole tournament was full of emotions and Princeton Invitational in 2019 when we shot 5-under as a team and broke a few records. Delaware 2018 was a great memory too… we were so close the last round and we won
Q:Â What's your favorite snack at "The Cafe?"
A:Â Not a huge fan of the caf, but breakfast always! hahaha
Q:Â Who's the teammate you'll most remember?
A:Â All of them but always my senior crew, it was fun to share my class and senior year with Lizzie, Sammie and Maddie It was great being the four of us
Q:Â Who was your favorite Professor?
A:Â Professor Dominic Ambrosio, ex Director of HBO New York, I learnt a lot about digital marketing with him
Q:Â What is the BIG EAST Team you wanted to defeat the most?
A:Â Xavier
Q:Â What will you miss the most?
A:Â Travelling to play golf and dinners after 36 holes when we are so tired that we have lost our minds, they are all laughs!
Â
Q:Â What's your favorite Seton Hall team to watch (not your own)?
A:Â Men's Basketball always!
Q:Â Will you ever step on the green's seal after graduation?
A:Â I hope I have the opportunity to do it, I can't wait!
