5/7/2020 9:00:00 AM | Women's Volleyball
Since this would have been Seton Hall's graduation month, we will highlight our seniors as part of our "May Senior Spotlight Series." Powered by Under Armour, we engaged select seniors with a little question and answer session about their time at The Hall.   Â
MAGGIE CVELBAR
VOLLEYBALL
Maggie Cvelbar (Euclid, Ohio) leaves Seton Hall after four years as one of the finest setters in program history. A three-time All-BIG EAST Academic Team member, she played in 382 sets over 113 matches for the Pirates. Cvelbar ranks ninth in program history with 1,979 career assists, and also proved herself as a competent defender, racking up more than 650 digs and 18 blocks. She graduated as the Pirates' active leader with 27 career double-doubles.
Q:Â What's your favorite memory competing for your team?
A: Our last game this season against Georgetown… coming back from an 0-2 deficit to end the season with a win was great… and walking off the court for the last time that night, alongside my classmates, was a bittersweet ending
Q:Â What's your favorite snack at "The Cafe?"
A:Â I think I could eat the rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes from The Cafe every day.
Q:Â Who's the teammate you'll most remember?
A:Â I'll always remember my 2020 classmates the most, Haylee and Madison. We've been through it all together, from the first day of preseason freshman year, to now celebrating our graduation during a pandemic, and of course the numerous 300's fitness tests that filled our time in between.
Q:Â Who was your favorite Professor?
A:Â Dr. Morales, he made studying physics interesting, exciting, and challenging.Â
Q:Â What is the BIG EAST Team you wanted to defeat the most?
A:Â I'd say it is equal, I want to beat them all.
Q:Â What will you miss the most?
A:Â All the great friendships I have made over these past four years here at Seton Hall
Q:Â What won't you miss?
A:Â 7 am lift/practice. Definitely will not miss waking up before the sun rises.
Q:Â What's your favorite Seton Hall team to watch (not your own)?
A:Â I love cheering on all my friends' teams, especially women's soccer and softball.
Q:Â Will you ever step on the green's seal after graduation?
A:Â I hope so, I didn't walk around that seal every day these past four years for nothing!
