South Orange, N.J. - The Seton Hall men's basketball team is set to begin the 2021-22 season on Wednesday, Nov. 10 as the Pirates welcome the FDU Knights to Prudential Center for a 7 p.m. game on FS1.
It's been a while since a crowd has seen the Pirates play at Prudential Center so here are three things you need to know before you catch the game live. There's still time to get tickets and they can be purchased here.
Please consider bringing a canned good or non-perishable food item for Team Walker, co-founded by Pirate great Jerry Walker. Team Walker will be on the Prudential Center concourse for the FDU game on Wednesday and the Yale contest on Sunday at 12 p.m.
ENTRY POLICY
In order to enter Prudential Center, patrons ages 12 and up must...
- OPTION A:Â Present proof of full Covid-19 vaccination status (via display of an actual vaccination card, a complete picture of the card, or an online digital vaccination record) or...
- OPTION B:Wear a mask covering their nose and mouth at all times unless actively eating or drinking.
- Children under 12 may enter the arena so long as they wear a mask covering their nose and mouth at all times unless actively eating or drinking.
MOBILE TICKETING
Moving forward all tickets to gain entry into men's and women's basketball home games will be fully digital, which will help to make entry to Prudential Center and Walsh Gymnasium safer and easier for fans.
This transition to digital ticketing through a smartphone will also help to make ticket transactions more secure while reducing fraud and counterfeiting. CASHLESS POLICY
Cash will NOT be accepted at concession stands, retail locations or the Box Office.
Pay with a debit or credit card using tap to pay, chip or swipe, or mobile payment, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. For guests needing to convert cash to a card, Reverse ATMs are available with no fees by sections 1, 14, 125 and inside the Box Office Lobby.

NOTES YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Pirates return four of their top six scorers from last season, add three transfers who have combined for over 1,400 career Div. I points scored and bring in a top-25 rated freshman recruiting class that will help Seton Hall once again compete for another conference championship and NCAA Tournament bid.
- The Pirates were picked to finish fifth in the BIG EAST Preseason Poll and senior Jared Rhoden (Baldwin, N.Y.) was named Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team.
- In head coach Kevin Willard's 11 seasons, the Pirates have met or exceeded their preseason poll rank eight times.
- In the Kevin Willard Era, Seton Hall is 9-2 in season openers and a perfect 11-0 in home openers.
- Willard is 3-1 all-time against the Knights including a 2-1 mark at Seton Hall and a 1-0 record at Iona.
- The lone defeat was a 58-54 victory for FDU at Prudential Center on Dec. 1, 2013.
- The Pirates have tasted victory in the lastest meeting; a 90-68 win in the 2017-18 season and home opener at Prudential Center on Nov. 10. 2017.
FDU-HALL CONNECTIONS
- Fairleigh Dickinson head coach Greg Herenda is no stranger to Seton Hall as he was an assistant coach under George Blaney from 1994-97.
- Associate head coach Grant Billmeier cut his teeth as an assistant coach on the Hackensack under Herenda in 2014-15.
- Newly appointed assistant coach Donald Copeland has battled against the Knight recently as he served as an assistant at Wagner from 2017-21.
WHO'S NEW?
- The Pirates landed three impact transfers this offseason and they have made Kevin Willard's team more versatile.
- Sophomore guard Kadary Richmond (Brooklyn, N.Y.) comes to The Hall from Syracuse where he appeared in all 28 games and averaged 21 minutes a game as a true freshman.
- A strong defender, Richmond ranked 13th in the nation in steal percentage, according to KenPom, recording a steal in 4.52 percent of Syracuse's possessions while he was on the court.
- Graduate student Jamir Harris (North Brunswick, N.J.) blossomed into an explosive scorer while at American in 2020-21, averaging 20.5 points and 3.5 assists while also leading the nation in three-pointers made per game at 3.9.
- He shot 47 percent from the field and 44 percent from three-point range, which ranked seventh-best in the country.
- Graduate student Alexis Yetna (Paris, France) burst onto the college basketball scene as a redshirt freshman for the Bulls in 2018-19, averaging 12.3 points and 9.6 rebounds while shooting 54 percent from the field and 37 percent from three.
- He finished that season with the most rebounds ever by a USF and American Athletic Conference freshman, and second-most in school history overall. He also was top-25 in the nation in rebounds per game and double-doubles (15). At season's end, he captured AAC Freshman of the Year and All-Freshman team honors.
