BOWLING GREEN, FLA. – Senior Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) fired a 3-under-par, 69, in the final round to lift the Seton Hall men's golf team to a third-place finish at the 2021 BIG EAST Championship at Streamsong Resort on Wednesday.
Â
Tait was brilliant on Wednesday, using five birdies to record the top Pirate round of the tournament. Tait tied for fifth place among all individual golfers, which qualified him for BIG EAST All-Tournament Team honors. For the tournament, he shot an even-par, 74-73-69-216.Â
Â
Today's round was the 14th of his remarkable career, which is tied for seventh-most in Seton Hall history. It's his third career top-5 finish.
Â
Collectively, Seton Hall had another strong round on Wednesday, firing a 7-over-par, 295, the second-best third-round of the field. The performance helped the Pirates vault Butler and finish in third place among the nine-team field. For the three-day event, The Hall was 18-over-par with a 296-291-295-882. Connecticut won the team title at 5-over-par. Marquette finished second at 11-over-par.

Â
The performance is Acevedo's first career top-5 finish.

Junior Deven Ramachandran (San Rafael, Calif.) finished his tournament with an 8-over-par, 80, on Wednesday. He was just 2-over-par through 12 holes, but struggled mightily on holes No. 13 and No. 18. For the event, Ramachandran was 12-over-par with a 76-72-80-228.
Â

Seton Hall led the field with three eagles for the tournament. McAuley, Acevedo and Ramachandran all eagled the 14th hole.
Â
