NORMAN, OKLA. – Seton Hall men's golf senior Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) was named to the Division I PING All-Northeast Region Team.
Â
Players across six regions – Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central, and West – earned all-region honors for 2021 from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Â
Acevedo is coming off a strong senior season, which included his first-ever top-5 performance, a tie for fifth at the 2021 BIG EAST Championship. His even-par, 70-74-72-216, was his best effort of the spring and earned him placement on the All-Tournament Team. Acevedo maintained a team-best 74.17 scoring average for the year, which ranked eighth-best among all golfers in the BIG EAST Conference. Furthermore, he was the only Pirate to have all 18 of his rounds this year count toward team scoring.
Â
His strong senior year was capped by earning All-BIG EAST Second Team honors in May.
Â
Acevedo has announced he will return to Seton Hall for a fifth year of golf beginning this fall.
