
Bechadergue Named BIG EAST Women's Golfer of the Week

NEW YORK – Seton Hall graduate student Margot Bechadergue (Aix-En-Province, France) was named BIG EAST Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.

Bechadergue made a huge impression in her first tournament as a Pirate last weekend at the Nittany Lion Invitational. The graduate transfer recorded four birdies in route to an even-par, 72, in the final round of the on Sunday. For the tournament, she placed fourth among 85 individual golfers with a 5-under-par, 71-68-72-211.Â

Bechadergue's 211 shatters Seton Hall's single-tournament, three-round, par-72 score by three strokes. The prior record was shot by current teammate Sarah Fouratt and Maddie Sager at the Nittany Lion Invitational in 2019. Additionally, her second-round 68 is tied for the second-lowest single round in Seton Hall history for a par-72 course.

The Pirates will return to the course on Sept. 25-26 for two rounds of golf at the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club.
