- The 20th ranked Seton Hall men's basketball team will conclude its two-game Midwest road trip on Saturday as the Pirates will take on Marquette at 12 p.m. Eastern at Fiserv Forum.
- After starting 0-2 in the BIG EAST for the first time under head coach Kevin Willard, the Pirates have won two of their last three in league play.
- Their latest victory was a thrilling 90-87 overtime win over Connecticut on Saturday, their third Quadrant One victory of the season.
- Seton Hall's three losses in conference play have come by a combined 15 points.
- Two of those defeats came without two critical interior pieces (7-2 graduate student Ike Obiagu and 6-10 junior Tyrese Samuel) against two ranked BIG EAST opponents.
- The Pirates have gone 2-1 since Obiagu's return and he has averaged 5.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.7 blocks in those three games.
- The Pirates have only played with their full compliment of players twice this season in their road win at No. 4 Michigan on Nov. 16 and in the 96-92 loss at DePaul on Jan. 13.
- The loss to the Blue Demons is the Pirates' lone non-Quadrant 1 loss of the season and is currently a Q2 defeat.
- Seton Hall's average margin of defeat this season is 4.5 points.
- This is the first season in program history where the Pirates defeated two top 10 non-conference opponents in the regular season.
- The Hall is one of only four programs in the country with multiple wins over top 10 teams this season (Baylor, Duke, Gonzaga).
- The Pirates are one of only four teams in college basketball with a true top five road win (No. 4 Michigan, 67-65) along with Wisconsin (No. 3 Purdue, 74-69), Miami (No. 2 Duke, 76-74) and Texas Tech (No. 1 Baylor, 65-62).
- The Pirates lead the BIG EAST and rank 28th in the country in three-point FG percentage defense (28.9 percent).
- The Pirates have held eight of its first 15 opponents to 65 points or less.
- Seton Hall is ranked in the top 50 in KenPom in both adjusted offensive efficiency (39th) and adjusted defensive efficiency (49th)
- Seton Hall is currently 27th in the NET, 30th in KenPom and 20th in the AP Top 25.
- The Pirates are 105-17 (.861) since 2016-17 when they attempt more free throws than their opponent.
- This season, Seton Hall ranks seventh in Division I in free throws made (264) and 26th in free throw attempts (338).
- The Hall is 123-18 (.872) since 2015-16 when its lead gets to seven points.
- Under Willard, the Pirates are 88-10 (.898) when they score 80 points or more.
- Seton Hall was ranked in the AP Top 25 for the eighth consecutive week on Monday as the Pirates stayed in at No. 20.
- Ike Obiagu has registered a block in 24 consecutive games going back to last season, the longest streak in the country.
- With five blocks at DePaul (Jan. 13), Obiagu cracked the top five in program history and now sits in fifth with 150 career blocks as a Pirate.
- Graduate student Bryce Aiken (Randolph, N.J.) has been a force in closing out games this season with 67 total points in the final five minutes of regulation and overtime through 14 games played (4.8 ppg).
- Senior guard Jared Rhoden (Baldwin, N.Y.) now has scored in double figures in 13 of 14 games played and ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in scoring (16.9 ppg).
- He became the 47th player in program history to score 1,000 points following his last made field goal in overtime against Connecticut on Jan. 8.
