
Pirates Down UMBC on Senior Day

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's swimming and diving team earned a big win on Senior Day over UMBC inside Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium. The Pirates outscored the Retrievers 162-136 in the final home meet of the season for The Hall. In total, The Hall took first in 11 of 16 events.
The Pirates started fast picking up a first-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay as the team of Ross Pantano (Bennington, Neb.), Gennarino Conzemius (Bethel Park, Pa.), Gaige Ryan (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) and Thomas Minar (Oxford, Conn.) combined to touch the wall first in a time of 1:33.07.
Freshman Sean Vizzard (Mount Laurel, N.J.) picked up right where he left off in an impressive freshman campaign, this time taking first in the 1000 Free with a time of 9:30.52. On his senior day, Ben LaClair (Belchertown, Mass.) paced the pool in the 200 Free, taking first with a time of 1:40.51. Right behind LaClair was Gideon Langenbusch (Oberhausen, Germany) who placed second in a time of 1:41.92.
Pantano picked up his second, first-place finish of the afternoon, this time in the 100 Back. The junior finished in a time of 50.20. In the 100 Breaststroke, Justen Lopez (Levittown, N.Y.) led all swimmers with a time of 57.31 while Conzemius took third in a time of 58.14.
Ji Ho Lee (Charlotte, N.C.) took second in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:54.18, while Minar also picked up a second-place finish in the 50 Free with a time of 21.21.
On the boards, Joel Satir (Greenwich, Conn.) took first in the 3M with a score of 322.12 and third in the 1M with a score of 296.32. Quinn Murtha (Cumming, Ga.) took first in the 1M dive with a score of 296.32 and second in the 3M with a score of 294.67. Trevor Post (Bay City,Mich.) placed second in the 1M dive with a score of 271.05
LaClair would earn another first-place finish, this time in the 100 Free doing so in a time of 46.43 while Minar placed third in 46.95. The Hall would go one-two in the 200 Back, Pantano in first with a time of 1:51.77 with Walker Parra (Pensacola, Fla.) in second with a time of 1:56.09.
In the 500 Free, Vizzard would again lead all swimmers with a time of 4:40.32 while Langenbusch took second in a time of 4:43.13. The Hall would close out the day strong as the relay team of Langernbusch, Minar, Ryan and LaClair would swim the fastest in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:06.94
The Pirates will have travel down to Washington, D.C. to compete against BIG EAST foe Georgetown on Saturday. Meet time is set for 1 p.m.
