
Moen, O'Donovan and Kronzon All Go 2-0 in Singles at Fordham Invite

Hartsdale, N.Y. - Sophomores Arabella Moen and Hili Kronzon and junior Emily O'Donovan all went 2-0 in singles competition to lead the Seton Hall women's tennis team at the two-day Fordham Invitational, held at Anthony F Veteran Park. Over the weekend, the Pirates went 2-2 against St. John's, 2-0 against Wagner and 3-3 against Columbia in singles while going 2-1 against LIU and 0-3 against Fordham in doubles.Â
Moen had to play three-set singles matches both days, but came out victorious in each as she dispatched St. John's Camila Ordoñez, 6-4, 2-6, 10-5 on Saturday and then topped Columbia's Michelle Xu on Sunday, 6-3, 4-6, 10-2.Â
O'Donovan cruised to a straight-set win on Saturday against Wagner's Samantha Bentsianov, 6-2, 6-2 and then she defeated Columbia's Sophie Raiszadeh on Sunday, 6-4, 3-6, 10-6.
Kronzon didn't lose a set over the weekend as she beat Wagner's Jasmine Lin on Saturday, 6-3, 6-2 and then easily took the first set of her Sunday match with Columbia's Tatiana Ziff, 6-0, before Ziff retired due to injury.
Senior Aina Plana Ventosa also earned one singles win on the weekend; she defeated Lalita Devarakonda in a back-and-forth affair, 6-4, 3-6, 11-9.
The Pirates conclude their fall competition and will now gear up for the spring championship season, which commences January 27.
