Five teams are within six strokes of the lead entering Tuesday's final round.

HAMPDEN, MASS. – Senior Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) fired a 1-under-par, 71, on Monday and the Seton Hall men's golf team is currently in fourth place after two rounds of the UConn Invitational.

Xie shot up the leader board on Monday after four birdies and 11 pars. Through 36 holes, he is tied for 13^th place overall with a 6-over-par, 79-71-150. Two other Pirates are in the Top-10 after two rounds, but The Hall has had trouble getting that fourth big score.

Through two rounds, The Hall is tied for fourth place among 14 teams with host Connecticut. Today, the Pirates shaved nine strokes off Sunday's round and finished with an 8-over-par, 296. Currently, they're 25-over-par with a 305-296-601. St. John's, the team leader after 18 holes, is still in front at 19-over-par. Rhode Island is second at 21-over-par, and Long Island is third at 23-over-par.

Xavier is a fourth team from the BIG EAST in the field and they're currently in ninth place at 35-over-par.

The individual Pirate leader after two rounds is Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.). The junior had four birdies on Monday in route to a 2-over-par, 74. Currently, he's tied for fourth among 78 individual golfers with a 2-over-par, 72-74-146.

Rhode Island's Brandon Gillis has a six-stroke lead on the field and is the individual leader at 5-under-par with 18 holes left to play.

Another Pirate having a strong tournament in Hampden is freshman George Fricker (Woodbridge, England). The newcomer shaved three strokes off his first-round score and overcame a troublesome fourth hole to shoot a 1-over-par, 73. He's currently tied for ninth with a 5-over-par, 76-73-149.

Sophomore Angus O'Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) had 13 pars in route to his second consecutive 6-over-par, 78, on Monday. He's currently tied for 42^nd with a 12-over-par, 78-78-156.

Freshman Jack Bosworth (Simsbury, Conn.) rounded out the lineup on Monday with a 10-over-par, 82. He's currently 18-over-par for the tournament with an 80-82-162.

In addition to Seton Hall and host UConn, the field includes 12 other schools: Bryant, Fairleigh Dickinson, Hartford, Iona, Lafayette, Long Island, Rider, Siena, Saint Joseph's and Rhode Island. St. John's and Xavier are also in the field making the BIG EAST's presence in this tournament four schools.

THE FORMAT:
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

THE SCHEDULE:
The teams will play 18 holes over three days, Sunday through Tuesday.
