Following back-to-back trips to the Midwest, the Seton Hall men's basketball team returns to Prudential Center on Saturday for a New Year's Even showdown against St. John's at 12 p.m. on FS1.
The Pirates have won 12 of the last 17 games in the series dating back to 2014-15 and five of the last seven meetings against the Red Storm..
The road team won both meetings last year.
The Pirates have won their last five games against the Red Storm at Prudential Center.
Seton Hall's last two New Year's Eve games at Prudential Center have both come against St. John's and both were victories (12/31/14, 78-67; 12/31/17, 75-70).
Through three BIG EAST games, junior Kadary Richmond (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is averaging 18 points on 55 percent shooting from the floor, 5.3 rebounds and five assists per game.
Richmond was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Dec. 19 after averaging 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in two games the previous week.
A Preseason All-BIG EAST Second Team selection, Richmond dropped a career-high 28 points, matched his career-high with nine rebounds and dished out five assists in the BIG EAST opener against Providence on Dec. 17.
Richmond has dished out five assists in all three BIG EAST games.
Richmond was high school teammates with junior Femi Odukale (Brooklyn, N.Y.) at South Shore High School.
In the two BIG EAST games he's played in, Odukale is averaging 9.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and three assists per game.
In the three-point loss at Xavier, Seton Hall held the Musketeers, one of the top offensive teams in the country, to their lowest three-point shooting percentage this season (25 pct.) and their second-lowest point total of the season (73).
The Pirates have allowed just 62.3 points per game over the last six games.
