
Seton Hall Continues Its Run of Record Academic Excellence

South Orange, N.J. - Seton Hall Athletics is proud to announce that its student-athletes continue to display unprecedented academic excellence, once again setting a new department cumulative grade point average record. After the Fall 2021 semester, Seton Hall's student-athletes have combined for a 3.498 cumulative GPA, surpassing the end-of-spring 2021's 3.491. All 14 varsity teams both hold a cumulative GPA above 3.0 and posted a 3.0 GPA or higher in the fall semester.

In addition, 158 student-athletes made the Seton Hall Dean's List during the Fall 2021 semester, representing 58 percent of the student-athlete population. To achieve Dean's List designation, Seton Hall students must achieve a 3.4 GPA or higher during the semester.

"As we strive to put our student-athletes in the best possible position for life after college, they continue to achieve greatness in the classroom, learning valuable information and skills that will position them for success," Seton Hall Director of Athletics Bryan Felt said. All 14 programs currently boast cumulative GPAs above 3.0 with women's golf leading the way at 3.779. Men's soccer has the highest GPA among the male sports at 3.601.

In the Fall 2021 semester, the Pirates combined for a 3.444 semester GPA with women's golf leading all teams at 3.751 and baseball leading all the male teams at 3.452.

Men's basketball, the department's highest-profile team with six consecutive top-four BIG EAST finishes and currently in strong contention for an NCAA Tournament berth this season, continues to boast a strong academic profile with a 3.015 GPA in the fall and a 3.056 cumulative GPA.

Women's basketball, which has won seven of its last eight games, achieved a 3.029 Fall semester GPA and holds a 3.127 cumulative GPA.
