
Seton Hall Taps Josh Azer As New Senior Associate AD for Development

South Orange, N.J. - Josh Azer, an established fundraiser and athletics administrator with a decade of experience raising funds in support of student-athletes and athletics department initiatives, has been hired as the new Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development at Seton Hall, Director of Athletics Bryan Felt '97, MA '05 announced Wednesday. Azer comes to Seton Hall after six years at Lafayette College, where he was the Director of Athletic Development and Executive Director of the Maroon Club.Â
Azer will begin his duties at The Hall on Wednesday, October 5 and will be charged with overseeing the Pirate Blue Athletic Fund, which works with Seton Hall alumni and fans to raise funds in support of Seton Hall's 14 varsity programs. In addition, Azer will serve as the sport administrator for softball.
"Josh is a seasoned fundraiser with proven success in donor relations, cultivating gifts and helping support the student-athlete experience," Felt said. "Josh's track record and his passion for student-athlete success stood out during the interview process, and we're excited to bring him to Seton Hall to take an already flourishing Pirate Blue Athletic Fund to new heights."
With Azer at the helm, Lafayette's Maroon Club had a banner fiscal year 2022, raising $1.84 million in annual giving dollars which support the 23 varsity Leopards programs. He also was at the forefront of soliciting and securing funds for capital projects, including the $10 million Wallach Sports Performance and Lacrosse Center which is scheduled to break ground in 2023.
Azer also served on Lafayette's management team that helps shape the strategic direction of the athletics department, was secondary sport administrator for the men's golf team and was the Patriot League representative for the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD).
Prior to joining Lafayette, Azer spent four years leading fundraising efforts as the Associate Director Orange & Blue Club/Assistant Athletics Director at Gettysburg College. He generated over $800,000 in annual donor and foundation revenues and also fundraised for major capital projects including a $1.45 million athletics locker room renovation.
Azer has a wealth of experience across numerous administrative units within college athletics, including club sports, operations and event management. In previous career stops, he has been the Coordinator of Club Sports at UMBC, a Staff Assistant at the America East Conference helping with communications and championships, and a Club Sports Supervisor/Athletic Operations assistant at Northeastern.
Azer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from SUNY Cortland and holds a Master of Sports Leadership from Northeastern University. He and his wife Katie reside in South Orange, N.J., where they have been members of the community for the past six years.
