
200 Free, 400 IM Records Fall on Day Three of BIG EAST Championships

East Meadow, N.Y. - Natalie Heim (Middletown, N.J.) took home gold and broke the school record in the 200 Free and Allie Waggoner (Moorestown, N.J.) broke her own 400 IM record as part of Seton Hall women's swimming & diving's third day at the BIG EAST Championships.
Heim finished the 200 Free in 1:48.00 in the 200 Free to claim the top spot, breaking the previous record by over a full second. With the victory, Heim became the first Seton Hall women's swimmer to become BIG EAST champion in the 200 Free.
Also in the 200 Free, Amanda Zajdzinski (Mesa, Ariz.) swam a personal-best time of 1:52.10 to win the Bonus Final.
Earlier in the night, Waggoner took down her own school record in the 400 IM, recording a fourth-place finish in the event. The sophomore touched the wall in a time of 4:22.10.
In the 100 Breast, Nicole Bastian (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) found her way onto the podium with a sixth-place finish in a time of 1:04.42. Behind her was Meredith Mutter (Pottstown, Pa.), who posted a personal-best time of 1:04.49 in the event.
The night concluded with the 400 Medley Relay which saw the Pirates place fifth. Julie Stampe (Allerod-Birkerod, Denmark), Bastian, Sierra Cripps (Seymour, Conn.) and Heim combined for a time of 3:49.08 to round out the night.
With one day remaining in the BIG EAST Championships, Seton Hall finds itself in fifth place with 635 points, just five points behind fourth-place Xavier.
