
Sarrias Pro's Career-Best Round Fuels Pirates at Rivertowne

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Sophomore Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain) fired a career-best 2-under-par, 70, and the Seton Hall women's golf team moved up three spots in the standings after round two of the Rivertowne Invitational on Monday.

Sarrias Pro was brilliant, using five birdies to power her to her first career sub-par round. She rocketed up the individual leader board and is now tied for 34th place with a 4-over-par, 78-70-148, through 36 holes. Tulane's Carla Bernat leads the individual field at 4-under-par.

As a team, The Hall fired a 6-over-par, 294, on Monday, its second-best round of the year. The Pirates jumped three spots in the standings and are now tied for 14th place with Longwood. The Hall is 22-over-par with a 304-294-598. Tulane is the team leader at 3-under-par.Â

Tied with Sarrias Pro as the top Pirate competitor for the tournament is graduate student Sarah Fouratt (Santa Maria, Calif.). Fouratt shot a 4-over-par, 76, on Monday and has a 4-over-par, 72-76-148 for the event.

They were tied after round one, and after both shooting a 2-over-par, 74, on Monday, Ludovica Busetto (Padova, Italy) and Ginevra Zavagli (Rome, Italy) are still tied after 36 holes. Busetto had three birdies and 11 pars in round two, while Zavagli had two birdies and 12 pars. Both golfers are 7-over-par for the tournament with a 77-74-151.

Freshman Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) closed out the Pirates' lineup with a 13-over-par, 85, on Monday. She's 20-over-par for the tournament with a 79-85-164.

Competing as an individual, freshman Lara Todorovic (Belgrade, Serbia) shaved off two strokes to finish with a 9-over-par, 81, on Monday. She's 20-over-par with an 83-81-164 for the event.

Situated among scenic marshlands and majestic live oaks with thirteen holes playing along the Wando River and Horlbeck Creek, this 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature course features exceptional year-round playing conditions with five sets of tees from 5100 yards to 7200 yards.  This is a true shot-maker's course; boasting tree-lined fairways, generous landing areas to setup approach shots, and multi-tiered greens guarded by bunkers and water. The fairways are ample, and the greens roll true. They are kept at a medium speed, befitting a resort course yet approachable enough for public play.Â

Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

The teams will play 18 holes on three consecutive days. Sunday's first round will begin with tee times beginning at 11:00 a.m. off holes No. 1 and No. 10. Monday's second round will begin with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. and Tuesday's final round will have a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.
