Pirates Compete at ITA Regionals

PHILADELPHIA - Six members of the Seton Hall women's tennis team competed in the 2024 ITA Northeast Regional, held at the Hamlin and Hecht Tennis Centers this weekend.
Anastasia Sereda in singles and the doubles teams of Niamh Campbell/Ellie Coe and Rachel Benoualid/Isabelle May all were in the main bracket going into the event, and Imogen Brooker played her way into the main singles bracket by winning her qualifying matches on Thursday.
Brooker and Tamsin Hart were among 64 singles players trying to earn one of 16 qualifying spots. Brooker defeated LIU's Ksenia Reznitskaya in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, and then dispatched Temple's Jessie Zheng, 7-5, 7-6(2), to earn her spot in the main bracket. Hart knocked off Karina Jumazhanovea of Rutgers in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5, but then lost to Delaware's Navya Vadlamudi in straight sets.
The Pirates battled in the main draw, but were unable to advance.
Seton Hall will head south in a few weeks to participate in the Seahawk Ocean Classic on the campus of UNCW in Wilmington, N.C., Nov. 1-3.
