Three Pirates Go Unbeaten in Singles at Seahawk Ocean Classic

Wilmington, N.C. - The Seton Hall women's tennis enjoyed a successful trip down south, taking part in the Seahawk Ocean Classic this past weekend. In addition to competing against host UNC Wilmington, the Pirates played matches against UNC Greensboro, Campbell, Longwood, North Carolina Central and Mount Olive.

The Pirates won 14 singles matches, headlined by Imogen Brooker, Ellie Coe and Tamsin Hart all going 3-0 on the weekend.

"I was really impressed with how hard our girls fought all weekend long," said head coach James Enzler. "Each match was against a quality team that required our girls to bring their best each day and they did that. Stage [Sereda] had three back-to-back third-set tiebreakers each day and she gave everything each match, which was incredible. Imi, Ellie, and Tamsin going undefeated in singles against those strong teams was equally impressive. Everyone gave it their all, and I couldn't ask for anything more to end the fall season. Now we have some time to improve on things before we get into spring matches in January."

Across the nine wins between Brooker, Coe and Tamsin, they lost just four sets, showcasing great poise against solid opponents.

Seton Hall will break for the fall and will begin dual match play on Friday, Jan. 24 at Saint Joseph's.
