
Aguilar, Gras Fuel Pirates Saturday in Delaware

REHOBOTH BEACH, DEL. – Freshmen Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) and Amelie Gras (Elancourt, France) are currently 7-over-par and have lifted the Seton Hall women's golf team to an eighth place standing after two rounds at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational on Saturday.

Aguilar shot a 6-over-par, 78, in round one, but shaved off five strokes in the afternoon thanks to two birdies and an eagle on the par-5, No. 5 hole. Through two rounds, she's 7-over-par with a 78-73-151. Gras had four birdies in round one to fuel a 3-over-par, 75. In round two, 15 pars paced her 4-over-par, 76. Currently, she's 7-over-par with a 75-76-151. They're tied for 20th among 65 individual golfers.

As a team, The Hall had a 23-over-par, 311, in round one, followed by a 14-over-par, 302, in round two. The Pirates are currently in eighth place at 37-over-par with a 311-302-613. Host Delaware currently leads the field by six strokes entering Sunday's final round. Two BIG EAST competitors are also in the field. Georgetown is currently in second place at 14-over-par, while St. John's is only three strokes ahead of The Hall in seventh place at 34-over-par.

Sophomore Kasumi Tran (Swansea, Wales) shot a 5-over-par, 77, in round one, followed by a 4-over-par, 76, in round two. She's currently tied for 29th with a 9-over-par, 77-76-153.

Rounding out Seton Hall's lineup, senior Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain) and junior Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) are currently 14-over-par. Both shot a 9-over-par, 81, in round one, but bounced back with a 5-over-par, 77, in the afternoon. For the tournament, they're 14-over-par with an 81-77-158.Â

Seton Hall has two golfers competing as individuals this weekend. Sophomore Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) shot a 5-over-par, 77, in round one, and shaved off a pair of strokes for a 3-over-par, 75, in round two. For the tournament, she's only one stroke behind Aguilar and Gras at 8-over-par with a 77-75-152. Rane is currently tied for 24th place overall.

Junior Lara Todorovic (Belgrade, Serbia) has turned in two solid rounds so far in Delaware. She's been consistent with a pair of 5-over-par, 77's. She's currently tied for 34th overall with a 10-over-par, 77-77-154.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Delaware, the field is comprised of nine other teams including: Harvard, LIU, Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac, Richmond, Yale and Youngstown State. BIG EAST opponents Georgetown and St. John's are also in the field.

Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

THE SCHEDULE:
The field will play two continuous rounds on Saturday, and one, final round on Sunday. For Saturday's rounds, the Pirates will be paired with golfers from Richmond and St. John's with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday's final round pairings will be determined by the golfers' Saturday performance with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
