Aguilar Named BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week

NEW YORK – Seton Hall sophomore Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) was named BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.

It's already the fourth time in her young career that she's received the weekly recognition.

Aguilar placed fourth overall and helped guide the Seton Hall women's golf team to a 11th place finish at the season-opening "The Southern" golf tournament on Tuesday. For the three-round event, she fired with a 3-over-par, 72-72-75-219, to place fourth among 70 individual golfers. Remarkably, it's Aguilar's seventh top-10 finish in only 11 career collegiate tournaments.

Aguilar and the rest of the Pirates will return to the course with three rounds of golf at the Nittany Lion Invitational, September 21-22, in State College, Pa.
