Newark, N.J. - The Seton Hall women's tennis team got singles wins from Niamh Campbell and Ellie Coe for the second straight day, but the Pirates lost the team battle to NJIT, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
"Another tough battle for us today," said head coach James Enzler. "We're very close to having these matches fall in our favor, and I think the next couple weeks of practice will bring us to where we need to be. Niamh, Ellie and Rachel really continue to impress me in singles. I'm excited to see what they are able to continue to do."
Campbell was a dominant straight sets winner in the No. 4 position, defeating Asima Sazan, 6-2, 6-0. She is now 3-0 in spring singles this season.
And Coe topped Feyza Aydin in the No. 5 position, 6-4, 6-4, to earn a second straight singles victory.
Seton Hall will head south next weekend for a Saturday battle at Loyola Maryland.
