
Lally Leads Pirates in the Spring's First Round

GOODYEAR, ARIZ. – Senior David Lally (Wickow, Ireland) fired a 2-under-par, 70, to lift the Seton Hall men's golf team to a seventh place standing after round one at the Loyola Intercollegiate on Sunday.

Lally finished with five birdies and 11 pars in route to a 2-under-par, 70. After 18 holes, he's tied for 13th place among 119 individual golfers. Paxton Maxwell is currently the team leader at 7-under-par after a 65.

As a team, The Hall is in seventh place following a 2-under-par, 286. Host Loyola Maryland and Richmond are tied atop the team leader board at 8-under-par following a pair of 280's.

Eli Shah (Newport Square, Pa.) continued his torrid junior year using three birdies and 13 pars to fuel a 1-under-par, 71. He's currently tied for 24th place overall. It's already Shah's seventh sub-par round of the year.

Also tied for 24th place overall, sophomore Will Hennesee (Tulsa, Okla.) had seven birdies and also shot a 1-under-par, 71.Â

Graduate student George Fricker (Woodbridge, England), playing on his birthday, shot a 2-over-par, 74, on Sunday and is currently tied for 64th overall.

Senior Jack Bosworth (Daniel Island, S.C.) shot a 3-over-par, 75, in round one, and is currently tied for 76th place.

Seton Hall's two freshman are competing as individuals. Blake Goodnight (Dallas, Texas) had four birdies and 11 pars in route to a 1-under-par, 71. He's tied with Shah for 24th place. Jace Hulett (Boerne, Texas) fired a 1-over-par, 73, and is currently tied for 53rd place.

Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

THE SCHEDULE:
The field will play 18 holes per day for three days, Sunday through Tuesday. A shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. PT all three days will begin competition. Seton Hall golfers will be paired with golfers from Loyola, NC State and Penn in round one, beginning on holes 5-7.
