Lally Paces Pirates in Round One at Bandon Dunes

BANDON, ORE. – Senior David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) shot a 2-under-par, 69, on Sunday to lift the Seton Hall men's golf team to a 12th place standing after round one of the Bandon Dunes Championship.

Lally had five birdies and 10 pars in route to his 2-under-par, 69. He's currently tied for 17th place among 96 individual golfers. Oregon State's Nguyen Anh Minh is currently leading the field by five strokes at 10-under-par after shooting a staggering 61.

It's Lally's seventh sub-par round in 17 rounds so far this year.

As a team, The Hall is tied for 12th place with Air Force in the talent-stacked field with a 4-over-par, 288. Oregon State is the current team leader at 21-under-par.Â

Freshman Blake Goodnight (Dallas, Texas) had four birdies and 11 pars to fuel a 1-under-par, 70. He's currently tied for 27th place after his sixth career sub-par round.

Sophomore Luke Nolan (Austin, Texas) had four birdies to power a 3-over-par, 74, while junior Isaiah Williams (Flemington, N.J.) is one stroke behind him following a 4-over-par, 75.

Rounding out Seton Hall's lineup, graduate student George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) shot a 6-over-par, 77.

Sophomore Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Okla.) and junior Eli Shah (Newtown Square, Pa.) are competing as individuals at Bandon Dunes. Hennessee is currently tied for 43rd place after shooting a 1-over-par, 72, while Shah is one stroke behind him, tied for 53rd place, with a 2-over-par, 73.

Winds are ever-present, and the varying elements create a new experience each time you play.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Idaho, the highly-competitive field includes 13 other teams including:Â Air Force, Denver, Eastern Washington, Oregon, Oregon State, Pennsylvania, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, Seattle University, SIU Edwardsville, Utah Tech, Utah Valley and Wofford.

Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

THE SCHEDULE:
The field will play three rounds over three days with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. ET each day. The Hall will be paired with golfers from Pennsylvania in round one starting on tees No. 5 through No. 7.
