
Lally Shines in Final Collegiate Round; Pirates Conclude

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – Senior David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) fired a 2-under-par, 70, in his final collegiate round to lift the Seton Hall men's golf team to the finish at the 2026 BIG EAST Championship at Riverton Pointe on Monday.

Lally was brilliant in his final round, using five birdies to fuel a 2-under-par, 70, on Monday, his 10th sub-par round of the year and the 25th of his career, which ties him for sixth-most in Seton Hall history. He was the top Seton Hall performer for the weekend, tying for 25th place with a 2-over-par, 73-75-70-218.

Lally finishes the year with a 72.07 scoring average, which is the fourth-best for a senior in program history, and the sixth-best for a single-year average of any grade. Furthermore, his 73.78 career scoring average ranks seventh-lowest ever at Seton Hall.

Xavier's Cayse Morgan won the individual title at a remarkable 14-under-par. He shot an 8-under-par, 64, in round three to power to the title.

As a team, Seton Hall shot a 5-over-par, 293, in the final round on Monday, and remained in 10th place. For the tournament, the Pirates were 16-over-par with a 297-290-293-880. Xavier, due in large part to Morgan's heroics, upset Marquette in the final round to win the team title by four strokes over the Golden Eagles at 21-under-par. Creighton placed third at 12-under-par.

Blake Goodnight (Dallas, Texas) was impressive in his first-ever BIG EAST Championship. The freshman had three more birdies on Monday to power a 2-over-par, 74. For the tournament, he tied for 36th place with a 5-over-par, 73-74-74-221.

Goodnight closes out his stellar first year in South Orange with a 73.31 scoring average, which is third-best for a freshman in Seton Hall history.

Eli Shah (Newtown Square, Pa.) and Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Okla.) finished in a tie for 41st place. Shah tallied Seton Hall's lone eagle of the tournament with a three on the par-5, No. 7 hole. The junior finished with a 3-over-par, 75, in round three. For the tournament, he was 6-over-par with a 77-70-75-222. After a rough start, Hennessee was 1-under-par over the final 13 holes of round three, finishing with a third-consecutive 2-over-par, 74.

Rounding out the Pirates' lineup on Monday, sophomore Luke Nolan (Austin, Texas) had a pair of birdies to fuel a 4-over-par, 76. For the event, he was 11-over-par with a 79-72-76-227.
