
Shah, Goodnight Fueling Pirates at BIG EAST After 36 Holes

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – Junior Eli Shah (Newtown Square, Pa.) and freshman Blake Goodnight (Dallas, Texas) are currently 3-under-par to lead the Seton Hall men's golf team after two rounds of the 2026 BIG EAST Championship on Sunday.

Shah shot a 5-over-par, 77, in the morning, but in the afternoon he shaved off seven strokes, using four birdies to fuel the first sub-par round of the tournament for Seton Hall, a 2-under-par, 70. Entering Monday's final round, he's 3-over-par with a 77-70-147.

Goodnight had four birdies in his first-ever BIG EAST Championship round in route to a 1-over-par, 73. In the afternoon, he was only one stroke worse, finishing with a 2-over-par, 74. He currently has a 3-over-par, 73-74-147, for the tournament.

Shah and Goodnight are tied for 30th among all individuals. Xavier's Cayse Morgan and Villanova's Ryan Pamer currently lead the individual field at 6-under-par with 18 holes remaining.

As a team, The Hall shot a 9-over-par, 297, in round one. In the afternoon, the Pirates shaved off seven strokes to finish with a 2-over-par, 290. For the tournament, Seton Hall is in 10th place with an 11-over-par, 297-290-587. The Pirates are only two strokes behind Butler for ninth place. The top five teams are currently under-par for the tournament with defending champion Marquette leading the way at 11-under-par. DePaul is second at 9-under-par and Xavier is third at 8-under-par.

Two additional Pirates are also tied, just one stroke behind Shah and Goodnight. Senior David Lally (Wickow, Ireland) had a birdie and 15 pars in the first round in route to a 1-over-par, 73. In the afternoon, he shot a 3-over-par, 75. For the tournament, he's 4-over-par with a 73-75-148. Sophomore Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Okla.) had six birdies on the day and fired a pair of 2-over-par, 74's. Both Pirates are 4-over-par for the tournament and tied for 36th place overall.

Luke Nolan (Austin, Texas) had one tough hole all day, a 12 on the par-5, No. 18 hole in the first round. Remarkably, the sophomore was even-par over the remaining 35 holes on Sunday. He shot a 7-over-par, 79, in round one, and followed it up with an impressive even-par, 72, in round two. He's currently 7-over for the tournament with a 79-72-151.

Originally slated to play 18 holes over three days, the field was forced to play 36 holes on Sunday due to heavy rains in Hardeeville on Saturday. The field will play one final round on Monday.

Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

The BIG EAST will crown a team champion, which earns an automatic berth to the 2026 NCAA Championship. The individual champion also receives an NCAA Championship invitation.Â
