Griffin Named Big East Co-Rookie of the Week

PROVIDENCE, RI (Nov. 20, 2000) -- Seton Hall's Eddie Griffin (Philadelphia, PA) has been
named the BIG EAST Co-Rookie of the Week for men's basketball for the first
week of the regular season.
Griffin shares the award with Omar Cook of St. John's, who averaged 14.3 points and 9.3 assists in three games.
Griffin, a 6-9 forward, registered a double-double in his first collegiate game, scoring 22 points and grabbing 14 rebounds in the 10th-ranked Pirates' 104-76 win over Rider. Griffin also had three blocked shots in 35 minutes of action.
Seton Hall, now 1-0, travels to Clemson on Tuesday, November 21, for a 7:30 p.m. game.
