Peters, Walcott Lead Track at Seton Hall Open

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ -- (Dec. 3, 2000) Freshman Olivia Peters (Aurora, OH) tied for third in the women's high jump competition while freshman Brian Walcott (Maybrook, NY) placed fourth in the men's 3000-meter run to highlight the Seton Hall track team's performance at the Seton Hall Open in the Regan Fieldhouse.
Peters' best jump measured at 4'10.00" for a third place finish and earned five of Seton Hall's seven team points. Only four members of the women's team competed for the Pirates.
Walcott finished the men's 3000-meter run in 9:25.74 to earn all four of the men's team points. Walcott was the only member of the men's track team to compete.
Sophomore Elisa Edwards (Brooklyn, NY) earned two more team points for the women's team when she placed fifth in the 800-meter run. Edwards finished with a time of 2:35.69.
Freshmen Keitha Alexander (Bronx, NY) and Davina McKenzie (Nassau, Bahamas) were the only other Pirate competitors. Alexander placed 14th in the women's 200-meter dash while McKenzie finished 9th in the preliminaries of the women's 60-meter high hurdles.
The Seton Hall track and field team will return to action next Sunday, Dec. 10, as they host the Seton Hall Games.
