John Moon serves as Assistant Coach at Olympics

As a sprinters coach, Moon successfully guided the US Men's 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relay teams, the individual 400 hurdles, and the individual 100 meter, to Olympic gold. In the 400 meters individual, the Moon led US team won all three medals (gold, silver, and bronze).
This summer, Moon was the head coach for the U.S. team at the United States vs. Great Britain dual meet, which was held in Glasgow, Scotland, in July.
Moon, who resides in Somerset, NJ, completed his 28th season as the head coach of Seton Hall. During his tenure, he has coached 19 Olympians, five NCAA Champions and 71 All-Americans.
Moon has coached with numerous United States national track teams, including the 1995 Pan American squad, and has competed in over 50 countries. In addition, he served as an assistant coach at the 1991 Goodwill Games and was head coach of the East team in the national Olympic Festival in 1983. In 1975, he coached the United States Junior National team that toured Poland, Germany and Russia. That summer of '75 saw the Moon-coached 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relay teams break world records.
