
BIG EAST Announces Preseason Coaches Poll At Media Day

NEW YORK - The Seton Hall men's basketball team was selected 15th in the Preseason BIG EAST Coaches poll announced at media day on Wednesday. The coaches selected Pittsburgh as the preseason favorite over Georgetown. The Panthers had 10 first-place votes and 219 points, narrowly edging the Hoyas, who had 212 points.
The Pirates return three starters from last year's 18-12 team that went to the NCAA Tournament. Head coach Bobby Gonzalez is in his first season at Seton Hall and will lead SHU into its season-opener on November 11 against Caldwell College.
Aaron Gray of Pittsburgh was selected as the Preseason Player of the Year, while Syracuse's Paul Harris was the Preseason Rookie of the Year.
