SYRACUSE, N.Y.The Seton Hall swimming and diving teams fell to Syracuse on Saturday afternoon at Webster pool. The men were defeated 175-118, while the women lost 179-116. The men’s team falls to 7-2 with the loss while the women hold a 5-3 overall record.
On the men’s side, sophomore Angelo D'Errico (Syosset, N.Y.) and freshman Stan Sadovski (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the squad. D’Errico placed first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 57.55, and swam to second in the 200 breaststroke in 2:10.10. Sadovski swam to first in the 50 freestyle in 21.88 and added a second place finish in the 100 freestyle (47.87). Senior Jack Leavitt (East Boston, Mass.) added two second place finishes in the 100 and 200 backstrokes, in times of 52.18, and 1:56.42, respectively. Chris Prus (Southington, Conn.) added a second place finish in the 500 freestyle (4:47.54).
On the women’s side, four swimmers recorded second place finishes. Junior Michelle Ducharme (Vernon, Conn.) placed second in the 1000 freestyle, timing 10:40.27. Jessica Kolackovsky (Franklin Square, N.Y.) swam to second in the 500 freestyle (5:16.14), and added a third place finish in the 1000 freestyle in 10:41.60. Hannah Meyer (Batauia, Ill.) timed 1:59.32 in the 200 freestyle, where she placed second, and placed third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:29.45. Freshman Kaitlyn Hafner (Cinnaminson, N.J.) added a second place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:14.12).
The Seton Hall swimming and diving teams will travel to Iona on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The meet is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
