Bobby Gonzalez Basketball Clinic Set for Oct. 20

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. Seton Hall men’s basketball head coach Bobby Gonzalez has announced that Seton Hall will host the Bobby Gonzalez Basketball Clinic on Saturday, October 20, 2007.  This educational clinic is an opportunity for coaches throughout the area to gain an all-access pass to a Seton Hall men’s basketball practice.

This clinic is only one of several Gonzalez has spoken at in recent days.  On Sept. 22, he addressed the PEMCO Northwest All-Sports Clinic in Seattle, Wash., and on Sept. 30, he spoke at the 4^th Annual Delaware Beach Basketball Coaches Clinic.  In each clinic, Gonzalez imparted his wisdom on players’ “Individual Improvement” and “Zone Offensive Concepts,” among other topics.

The Bobby Gonzalez Basketball Clinic will feature a continental breakfast, all-access to a Seton Hall men’s basketball practice, question and answer session in Walsh Gym with Coach Gonzalez, lunch and a tour of the Seton Hall men’s basketball facilities.

Bobby Gonzalez is entering his second season as head coach of the Seton Hall men’s basketball team.  He arrived in South Orange, following seven successful seasons as the head basketball coach at Manhattan University.  At Manhattan, Gonzalez took the Jaspers to two NCAA Tournaments and posted four 20-win seasons.  His greatest coaching feat came during the 2003-04 season when Gonzalez guided Manhattan to a 25-6 overall record and their second consecutive MAAC title and NCAA appearance.  In the Tournament, the 12^th seeded Jaspers upset the fifth-seeded Florida Gators to reach the second round.
