D?Errico and Ducharme Set School Records in Final Day of Swimming and Diving BIG EAST Championships

EAST MEADOW, N.Y.The Seton Hall swimming and diving teams concluded its 2007 season at the BIG EAST Championships. Sophomore Angelo D'Errico (Syosset, N.Y.) set his second school record, having previously broken the 100 breaststroke mark earlier in the competition. Junior Michelle Ducharme (Vernon, Conn.) broke her own 1650 freestyle school record.

D’Errico placed ninth in the 200 breaststroke, timing 2:02.562. He broke the previous record of 2:05.62 set during the 2002-03 season. Senior Hidenaga Murakami (Los Angeles, Calif.) placed 15th in the 200 butterfly in 1:52.93.

Ducharme swam to eighth in the 1650 freestyle, timing 16:57.13, breaking her own record of 17:00.23. In addition, Jessica Kolackovsky (Fairport, N.Y.) swam to 14^th in the 1650 freestyle, timing 17:14.95.

Overall, the men's team placed ninth with 157 points, while the women's team placed 11th with 62.

The men’s team finished the 2007 season with a 8-2 dual meet record, while the women held a 6-3 record.
