Men's Basketball Signs Guard Chris Smith

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. Seton Hall head coach Bobby Gonzalez announced Thursday that Chris Smith (Millstone, N.J.) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Seton Hall University beginning in the 2007-08 academic year. Smith will join four other Pirate newcomers, Michael Glover, Jeremy Hazell and Austin Okosun, who signed in November, and Brandon Walters who signed last month.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Smith is the younger brother of JR Smith of the NBA’s Denver Nuggets. Gonzalez likes the depth he’ll provide the Pirates’ backcourt and believes he is the perfect kind of player for his system.
