A pair of buckets by sophomore center Kashmere Joseph ( SHU followed with a long run, sparked by a trifecta from sophomore Ebonie Williams ( Rider cut the deficit to 20-10 before Williams knocked down a pull up jumper with 6:39 to go. Junior Nicole Emery ( Williams had a team-high nine points at the break, while Green paced all players with nine rebounds. A pair of free throws by Rider’s Tammy Meyers cut the lead to 14 with 13:11 left. The Pirates responded with eight straight, including back-to-back scores by Green, to push the lead back over 20 by the nine minute mark. The Broncs failed to threaten down the stretch as SHU coasted to a 16-point win. Williams led the way with 13 points, while Green completed a sparkling debut with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Emery had a strong all-around performance, totaling nine points, four rebounds, five blocks and three steals. Sepulveda led Rider with 15 points. The Pirates dominated the boards, posting a 52-39 advantage on the night. The Broncs were limited to 23.7 percent shooting and forced into 19 turnovers.
