Jeremy Hazell Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Seton Hall sophomore Jeremy Hazell (Harlem, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Conference Men’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. 

Hazell averaged 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in a week that saw the Pirates pick up two victories.  Seton Hall defeated California Baptist last Tuesday, 92-80, and earned their first non-neutral road victory of the year at Saint Peter’s, 60-46.  Against California Baptist, Hazell tied Eugene Harvey with a game-high 25 points and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds.  Most recently, despite a poor-shooting day for the team as a whole, he fired a game-high 14 points at Saint Peter’s.

Also earning weekly honors, Georgetown’s Da’Juan Summers was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while West Virginia’s Devin Ebanks was named Rookie of the Week.  Those joining Hazell on the Weekly Honor Roll include: Samardo Samuels of Louisville, Lazar Hayward of Marquette, Luke Harangody of Notre Dame and Paris Horne of St. John’s.

Hazell and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Saturday, December 20 when they host IUPUI at Prudential Center.  Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
