Houston Astros Retire Baseball Alum Craig Biggio's Number 7

Biggio, who announced his retirement following the end of the 2007 season, finished his career with 3,060 hits and 291 home runs. He has enjoyed a 20-year career with the Astros and is the only player in Major League Baseball history to record 600 doubles, 250 home runs, 2,700 hits and 400 stolen bases. He's also the only player in Major League history to make the All-Star Team as a catcher and second baseman. Lastly, Biggio is a seven-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glove winner.
Biggio played for the Pirates from 1985-87. He led the 1987 squad, one of the greatest teams in Seton Hall’s baseball history, to a BIG EAST title and a record setting 45 wins. A First Team All-America selection his junior year, he was a two-time First Team All-BIG EAST selection. Biggio was inducted into Seton Hall’s Hall of Fame in 1996.
