Bobby Gonzalez is entering his fourth season as head coach of the Seton Hall men's basketball team. Last season, the Pirates exceeded expectations by finishing 11th in the BIG EAST, defeating two ranked opponents, finishing third at the ultra-competitive O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off and earning their first victory in the BIG EAST Championship since 2003.
Gonzalez arrived in South Orange, following seven successful seasons as the head basketball coach at Manhattan University. At Manhattan, Gonzalez took the Jaspers to two NCAA Tournaments and posted four 20-win seasons. His greatest coaching feat came during the 2003-04 season when Gonzalez guided Manhattan to a 25-6 overall record and their second consecutive MAAC title and NCAA appearance. In the Tournament, the 12th seeded Jaspers upset the fifth-seeded Florida Gators to reach the second round.
