SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. The Seton Hall baseball program announced they have added Chris Bagley to their coaching staff for the 2009 season. Bagley joins head coach Rob Sheppard, pitching coach Phil Cundari, and volunteer assistant coach Zach Porcello.
Bagley enters South Orange following three seasons as the hitting and defensive specialist with Fairleigh Dickinson. Prior to those seasons with the Knights, the New Jersey native spent 10 years as the recruiting coordinator for the Long Island University Blackbirds, where he also enjoyed a successful four-year playing career from 1989-92.
When not at the field, the former Frontier Leaguer where he spent two seasons with the Ohio Valley Red Coats, is the owner and operator of the Frozen Ropes Training Center in Pine Brook, N.J. In addition, Bagley also serves as a training coordinator for the center that specializes in developing players of all ages.
The Pirates (10-7, 2-1) will begin a 10-game home stand when they take on Monmouth at Owen T. Carroll Field Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
