SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. Seton Hall men’s basketball head coach Bobby Gonzalez announced today that Ferrakohn Hall (Memphis, Tenn.) has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University and play basketball for the Pirates beginning in the 2009-10 season.
The 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward is the second signing this week for Gonzalez as guard Jamel Jackson announced his intentions on Monday. The newcomers will join a trio of transfers, Keon Lawrence, Herb Pope and Jeff Robinson, as well as Melvyn Oliver, as new Pirates set to play this fall.
“We are very excited to add Ferrakohn to this tremendous recruiting class,” Gonzalez said. “He’s an athletic, versatile forward who can play a number of positions for us. Recently, his recruiting became really intense with a number of major schools coming hard at him. He’s a terrific kid from a good family and he takes his school work very seriously. We feel he has the whole package.”
A First Team All-State selection as a senior at White Station High School in Memphis, Tenn., Hall averaged 15 points and nine rebounds per game while leading his team in blocks. An athletic forward, he earned All-District 15 honors and was a nominee for selection as a McDonald’s All-American. In two seasons at White Station, Hall guided the Spartans to a 58-20 record and two appearances in the Class AAA Tennessee State Championship. After a runner-up finish the prior year, Hall grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three shots in the 2009 State Championship en route his school’s first title since 2004. Named to the First Team of Memphis’ “Best of the Prep,” he ranks as the #46 power forward recruit in the nation by rivals.com, and #38 among all small forwards by ESPNU.com.
