
2009-10 Men's Basketball Schedule Announced

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The BIG EAST unveiled the 2009-10 men's basketball conference schedules for all 16 member schools on Thursday. Combined with its non-conference schedule, Seton Hall will host 17 games in its third season at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
The Pirates will open the season at home on Friday, November 13 vs. Saint Peter's. Their first BIG EAST game of the season will be at Prudential Center vs. West Virginia on Saturday, December 26. That game is the first of the BIG EAST schedule among all conference teams and will be aired on CBS at 3:30 p.m. To purchase tickets, or for more Seton Hall ticket information, please call (973) 275-HALL.
Seton Hall will host Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) in exhibition action on Friday, October 30 at Walsh Gym before beginning the regular season on November 13 vs. Saint Peter's. In addition to the Peacocks, the Pirates non-conference schedule features home games against LIU (Nov. 28), NJIT (Nov. 30), Hartford (Dec. 3), Massachusetts (Dec. 7), VMI (Dec. 12), Temple (Dec. 19) and Navy (Dec. 22).
On Saturday, January 2, Seton Hall will face Virginia Tech in Cancun, Mexico. The game will be aired live on ESPN2 with a start time to be determined.
Other non-conference road opponents for the Pirates include Monmouth (Nov. 15) and Cornell (Nov. 20).
Seton Hall's BIG EAST schedule features a home-and-home series with Pittsburgh, Rutgers and West Virginia. In addition to their opener vs. West Virginia, the Pirates will host Syracuse (Dec. 29), Cincinnati (Jan. 9), Louisville (Jan. 21), Pittsburgh (Jan. 24), Notre Dame (Feb. 11), DePaul (Feb. 14), Rutgers (Feb. 23) and Marquette (Feb. 28). Additionally, the Pirates will play road games at Connecticut (Jan. 6), at Georgetown (Jan. 14), at USF (Jan. 28), at Villanova (Feb. 2), at Pittsburgh (Feb. 6), at St. John's (Feb. 17), at West Virginia (Feb. 20), at Rutgers (Mar. 4) and at Providence (Mar. 6).
The BIG EAST Championship, which again will include all 16 schools, begins on Tuesday, March 9 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
