
Jeremy Hazell Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Seton Hall junior Jeremy Hazell (Harlem, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Conference Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll for the third time this season on Monday.
Hazell averaged 23.0 points and 2.5 steals in a week that saw Seton Hall go 1-1. Last Wednesday, he scored 13 points in a 71-63 loss at #13 Connecticut. On Saturday vs. Cincinnati, Hazell exploded for a game-high 33 points and four steals ensuring Seton Hall's first BIG EAST victory of the season. It was the fifth time this season Hazell has topped the 30-point mark in a game and 12th time in his career. For the season, the 6-foot-5 guard is averaging 23.3 points per game, which is second in the BIG EAST Conference.
Also earning weekly honors, Notre Dame's Luke Harangody was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while Connecticut's Alex Oriakhi was named Rookie of the Week. Those joining Hazell on the Weekly Honor Roll include: Austin Freeman of Georgetown, Dominique Jones of USF, Wes Johnson of Syracuse and Scottie Reynolds of Villanova.
Hazell and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Thursday, January 14 when they travel to the Verizon Center to take on Georgetown. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
