SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall freshman Brandon Mobley (Savannah, Ga.) was medically cleared to resume normal basketball activities and will be available and in uniform for the Pirates in their game vs. Mercer on Sunday.
"We're very happy to have Brandon back and that added depth in our frontcourt," said head coach Kevin Willard. "Our medical staff, headed by Dr. Anthony Festa and team trainer Tony Testa, has done a remarkable job in rehabilitating Brandon and getting him ready for court action. We truly have some of the best medical personnel in the BIG EAST."
Mobley dislocated his right shoulder, while playing basketball in the New Jersey Shore League this past summer, which has delayed the start to his collegiate career.
A 6-foot-9 forward, Brandon Mobley is described as an inside-outside big man with deep range, good athleticism and quickness. He averaged 20 points, eight rebounds and three blocks per game in his lone year at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in Wisconsin. As a high school senior in Savannah, Mobley was named First Team All-State, All-Region and Region Most Valuable Player while leading Grove High School to a 28-2 record. A proficient scorer who can play both forward positions, he averaged a double-double at Grove.
The Pirates will return to action on Sunday, Dec. 18 when they host Mercer at the Prudential Center. Game time is scheduled for noon. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling 973-275-HALL.
